One of the biggest challenges many students and people who write essays and research papers often face is finding the right data for their research.
They are often surrounded by a massive amount of data and they find it difficult to decide which data is crucial for their work. So, to avoid the situation like that, it is very important to start with the right questions:
- What is the subject of my research? You have to know what do you want to explore. Is your subject too broad? Can you narrow it down? What is your perspective on this subject?
- Who are the most important authors that wrote about your subject? Explore. Use the internet, library catalog and any other resource you can and make a list. It will be easier to gather the data later.
- The old or the new data? Do you need historical or the most recent data? Is historical/ old data important? Do you have to compare it to the most recent data?
- Why is this data important? This is the most important question you have to ask yourself when you find some data. In that way, you save a lot of time and help yourself to write a great essay or research paper.
